[Emporio holds his pearl with care, making sure not to project much of a video image. The mental audio is best here he thinks, if at least because of what he's 'talking' about.

Everyone- Uh. I need you to know that Guildmaster Ribombee brought Firepaw in today. ...He found him outside his office door, with a report in his jaws.

...Firepaw was. ...Was working really hard the last little while. He was down here so many times that Anasui and I had to pull him out more than once to try and get him to sleep, but.

[Distantly, one might actually make out the sounds of the Espartha cursing. Anyone who actually knows the bird can tell that he's upset.

But not in an 'angry' way.

Emporio presses on.]

...I'd say I'd hope he can get some rest for a bit now, but after what happened to A.B.A...

...Well. We'll all be taking turns looking after him with the others. But please. Just... ...Look after yourselves too. Don't push it.

Come follow me into the dark

[It's Noelle's first trip into the Middle Forest, and she can't imagine how horrible it was before the fog receded. Even now, a light haze blocks most sunlight and she keeps tripping over bones that litter the ground. Every time she comes across one, she can't help but freeze in terror, stopping their progress completely.

Be brave, she keeps telling herself. Shoka is with you. But there's a sense of unease that won't go away, a perpetual chill that tells her she's making another mistake.

It's Noelle's first trip into the Middle Forest, but she doesn't feel like it is. Logically, she knows she's never been here. But in her heart, she feels as if she's ventured into the dark unknown beyond the boundaries of her 'normal' world once and never been the same for it.

After almost tripping off a cliff, Noelle opts to stay close to Shoka. How funny of her to cling to something arguably more scary than a little fog and old bones. But Shoka is... the good kind of scary.]

S-sorry if I'm slowing you down. This must be nothing to you, fahaha...

[... It's Noelle's first trip into the Middle Forest, and she's glad she's not alone.]

[VIDEO] Ren announces his return

[Having settled in again with the help of Akechi and his friends in the Oran Berries, Ren figures it's time to make a proper announcement- he doesn't just have friends in the Oran Berries, after all, so, having settled in his room, he fishes out his Grumpearl, and opens a connection.

The video opens with him grinning, trying to look collected. He does look a little weak still, though.]

Hi everyone. Guess who's back? [His grins widens a little.] Didn't think I'd be that easy to get rid of, did you?

[He chuckles. It's a bad joke, but he's trying.]

I guess I overdid it a little, so I'll try to take it easy for a bit," [he says, like a liar.] "Akechi's been fretting over me like a mother bird, so not like I have much of a choice, hehe.

[He pauses, face falling a little, before speaking again.]

Still, if you visited me while I was out... thanks. I wasn't really all there, but I appreciate it. Really." [He tries to smile again.] "Tell me so I can properly thank you in person, okay? Sorry I worried everyone. Don't do that again- message loud and clear!

[He forces an upbeat tone, but he really does feel bad.]

Uh, anyway. Glad to be back. I can't wait to get back to doing missions with everyone! I hope to see you soon.

Having been out for all of July thanks to succumbing to the mystery illness that has been plagueing Bottlecap Bay for a while now, Ren's still regaining his bearings. He's a little mad at himself for letting it get this bad- and for making everyone worry. That's the last thing he wanted. Still, he's eager to catch up on what he missed, and to start doing missions again... but he's still under doctor's orders to take it easy.

[The Grumpearl shows a Winter-form Deerling tapping on it with a hoof, as if trying to get it to work. Her eyes widen when she realizes it's been on for several seconds. She steps back nervously and clears her throat.]

Umm, hi, everyone! I'm Noelle Holiday, and I'm one of the new members of the Oran Berries! It's been really great to meet everyone!

[She beams, revealing two slightly prominent front teeth. It seems she's crammed herself into a quiet corner of the low-tier housing in the Oran building. Indistinct chatter can be heard in the background. If you're an Oran Berry guild member, maybe you even hear her recording this.]

I'm a high school student in Hometown... er, I was, at least... and I like gaming, cross-country running, and I used to do some tutoring... [Mostly studying with Berdly or letting Kris copy off her, though. She shrinks back a little, embarrassed at how boring she feels in comparison to all the cool people here.] I- I might see if they need any more help in the clinic! I was a fast learner, and I used to look up medical stuff! [She doesn't elaborate on why. Regardless, she feels like maybe that will get her out of having to fight too much.]

I hope we can all be friends!

[It's been a long time since he posted on the network - he replies occasionally, but he was a kitten when he first introduced himself to everyone and now he's a young adult - nearly full size, although it seems that he's just going to stay undersized.

Firepaw's expression is deeply troubled - he's never been good at hiding his emotions, rarely tried to in the first place, but this might be the first time a few of the newcomers have heard him sounding so grave.]

Dark Heart is sick again. It's been a few days, and... they don't know when he'll get better.

[He's aware that not everyone will feel as strongly about it as he does... and something about that makes it worse.]

But A.B.A came back, so... hopefully he will too.

[Even if Alastor never did. Even if Ren is still sick. He has to hope, or he'll lose the spark that makes him himself.]
